Great post and message. I now broadcast Strength events and I try to over deliver and under promise. It’s so disheartening that businesses outside of the Strength community come in and think they can provide substandard service to those in Strength that love it, built it, studied to improve and teach it and try to invest in other new or existing members.

Thanks for the advice brother. The gym sucks when your impatient lol I trained for 5 months put on 15lb lean muscle, (maybe newbie gains but i was obsessed with every detail) felt like i popped a rib doing deadlifts. Couldn't even lift my arm above my head, thought i was gonna puke, sh"t and pass out, could barely walk. Lost allmost all my gains except for about 3lb, couldnt lift for months and took 6 months before I felt normal again. 5 months was the longest i ever stuck at something lol now it's time to get back at it I just can't find the motivation 😔

Do you include exercises for the smaller muscles of the hip in your lower body warmups: adductor/abductor/hip flexors/etc? (My thinking revolves around them working very much like the rotator cuff does for the shoulder to keep the ball held firmly in the socket for maximum stability.)

This advice absolutely matches my experience with training. For years I was plateaued at 295 on the bench. During COVID and after, with gyms closed, I wasn't even really training for powerlifting, just weighted calisthenics. Lots of pullups, facepulls, external rotations, handstand pushups, and for push strength: DECLINED RING PUSHUPS, with and without a weight vest and for high volume. I did this off and on for 2-3 years. A month ago I came back to powerlifting after a 6mo hiatus (I mean nothing) and my initial PR test I hit 305. Today after a month back I pushed 335 (failed 350). In addition to everything he says in this video, that feeling of stability just absolutely makes it feel like everything is working together better. The weight literally just feels lighter in my hands.

One I do I call ankle marches. It may have a proper name, but idk what it is. I put the loop of each strap around each ankle. Then, in a forward motion, I lift a leg to 90 degrees, hold it for a second, and then reach that leg forward. I then follow with the other leg.

Would you say this law depends on how hard you train? For example, if you only did 2 sets of heavy legs on Monday, surely you could train again by Wednesday. But if you did 8 sets of heavy legs, yeah you’ll probably need until Thursday. What do you think?

The most optimal diet is eating what you normally eat and just adjusting your portions to lower tha calories this way you are eating what you love and there would be no need for cheat meals
